whoot. is built for the teams who live on voice — traders, operations centres, broadcast crews, security and emergency response. But the people you need to reach aren't always inside the app. A counterparty on an external desk. A contractor on site. A driver, a duty manager, an off-shift responder. They might never install anything — but every one of them can receive a text. SMS is the lowest common denominator that still works on every phone, in every pocket, right now.
So we made SMS a first-class citizen of the room. Give a room an SMS-enabled number and it becomes a real two-way text line. Reach people from it — send an alert, answer a reply — and when they text back, their message doesn't vanish into a separate inbox. It lands back in the same room, in the same timeline as your voice transcripts and chat, with the sender's number shown so you always know who you're talking to. The in-room chime fires, the same as any other message. It's a real conversation, and it happens where your team already is.
When you need to reach a lot of people, broadcast. Send from an alphanumeric Sender ID — your name in the "from" line instead of a number — for one-way notices that don't need a reply. Every Sender ID is checked against an anti-impersonation denylist first, so nobody can spoof a bank, a government body, or the emergency services from your account.
And when it's an emergency, SMS earns its keep. Fire an alert to a recipient list, ask a single question — "Are you safe?" — and watch the answers come back in real time. Re-ping only the people who haven't replied. Push an update to everyone, then a final all-clear. If someone replies that they're not OK, that text opens a one-to-one conversation with your team — and you can escalate straight to a voice call when a message isn't enough.
Throughout, every message in and out is recorded with its delivery status, STOP and START opt-outs are honoured automatically, and the whole comms log is built to be pulled for a Martyn's Law incident review. Reach anyone, keep the record, stay compliant — without leaving the room.
One number. Real conversations. Broadcast, alerts, and a full record — all in the room.
A text message is a communication like any other — and in a regulated or safety-critical operation, it has to be accounted for. Every SMS your team sends or receives is captured with its full delivery status and kept in a tenant-wide comms log you can filter and export — built specifically for Martyn's Law incident review. Sender identity is recorded on every inbound message, opt-outs are honoured automatically, and Sender IDs are screened so no one can impersonate a trusted institution from your account.
